Several homes have been evacuated in an East Sussex town after reports of suspected chemicals found in a property, police have said.

Officers have cordoned off part of the A259 in St Leonards, near the junction with Caves Road.

The incident is believed to be isolated, Sussex Police said.

A spokesperson added that the force was supporting explosive ordnance disposal teams in the operation.
