Hospital patients were evacuated after a fire broke out at a mental health facility in Bradford on Tuesday.

Rescue crews were called to the Three Valleys Hospital in Steeton, near Keighley, at about 17:45 GMT.

A spokesperson for the privately-run hospital, which, according to its website, accommodates up to 43 patients, said the fire broke out in a "very small room".

No-one was seriously injured and patients and staff were allowed back into the premises shortly afterwards, they added.

In a statement, Elysium Healthcare, which runs the hospital, said: "We are pleased to report there were no serious injuries.

"All patients were able to return to the hospital following a successful evacuation."

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Silsden, Keighley and Bingley attended the blaze, along with officers from North Yorkshire.

The cause of the fire was still being investigated, it added.
