Safari park rebrands after 51 year 'mistake'

West Midland Safari Park will now be known as West Midlands Safari Park following a decision to rebrand itself.
Head of marketing Rochelle Zare admitted it could have been a mistake by the park not to have an S on the end of Midland.
She told BBC Hereford & Worcester that it "made sense" to add the letter during the rebranding process.
As well as a name change, the Bewdley attraction has introduced a new logo with the changes set to be brought in officially from March.
When asked if the original name was a mistake, Ms Zare said: "Our park is 51 years old this year and there were a couple myths across the business as to why the S was not there in the first place."
They include rumours that the business was registered with Companies House incorrectly and that the original founders felt there were already too many S sounds in the name.
"We have undergone a rebrand in the last 12 months," she added, before explaining: "We have introduced a new logo, brand identity and it just made sense to put the S back into West Midlands at this point."
The park's managing director, Chris Kelly, said: "This is an exciting time for all of us here at the park and we are delighted to be sharing our new look after months of hard work behind the scenes.
"This definitely signifies a new chapter and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all our guests, past and present for supporting us."
The park declined to reveal how much the rebrand had cost when asked by the BBC.
