A memorial walk is being held in a city centre to observe World Aids Day.

The event in Wolverhampton aims to show support for people living with HIV and those that have lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses.

It will start at Pride House on School Street at 18:45 GMT on Friday.

The procession will feature speeches and candle-lighting along with prayers by Deacon Linda Gilson.

It was arranged by multiple organisations including Wolverhampton Methodist Circuit, City of Wolverhampton Council and Wolverhampton LGBT.

World AIDS Day is observed every year on 1 December to spread awareness about HIV and AIDS.

Founded in 1988, the movement remembers lives lost and shows solidarity against HIV stigma, external.
