A police force has made an appeal for witnesses following 27 fires over four months at a landfill site.

Cambridgeshire Police said the fires had been reported between 22 April and 22 August at the site in Pool Road, Wilburton, near Ely.

PC Joe Dockerill, from the East Cambridgeshire Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "I'm appealing for anyone with information about these fires to come forward as they are potentially putting people in danger and causing damage."

He added that dealing with the fires has been "very draining" on police and fire resources and regular patrols were being carried out in the area.
