A man has died after a tractor crashed into hedges and parked vehicles following a vintage car show.

The man, a passenger of the tractor, in his 50s, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene, police said. His next of kin have been informed.

The crash happened in Fiddington near Monks Lane in Tewkesbury at around 23:25 BST on Saturday, close to the site where the Severn Vale Vintage Club car show had been taking place.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through alcohol.

Following the incident, Severn Vale Vintage Club organisers have closed the event which was due to continue on Sunday.

The show included "vehicles and machinery from yesteryear", as well as arena displays, dog classes and traditional country games, according to its website.

In a statement shared online, organisers said: "Any online purchases will be refunded in due course. Please accept our apologies."

Gloucestershire Constabulary has made an appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
