A theatre is holding open auditions for an "electrifying" competition showcasing south Asian dance.

Just Naach will be staged for the second time at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre on 15 September at 17:00 BST.

The theatre said it welcomed entries from solo, group and school performers, in styles including Bollywood, Bhangra, regional folk and Indian classical.

Vicky Price, an associate director at the theatre, said the contest celebrated the region's "rich culture of South Asian dance and performing arts".

Competitors will perform in front of a live audience and judges, with the winner receiving 50 tickets to the Grand's 2025 pantomime of Beauty and the Beast.

The contest was first held in 2022 and won by Walsall-based group Ultimate Bhangra.

Ms Price described it as an "electrifying" showcase of talent across all ages.

"Just Naach is not only a joyful evening but an integral part of the Grand Theatre’s commitment to cultural heritage, storytelling and communal connection," she added.

Entrants must submit an audition video and application by email before 31 July, with tickets available to buy on the theatre's website.
