Emergency crews have put out a fire that engulfed a van on a slip road.

Two fire engines from Witney Fire Station were sent to the scene on the A40 at Ducklington, Oxfordshire, on the entry slip heading towards Burford, shortly after midnight.

Crews were faced with a "well-developed fire involving a Transit Van", according to Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

It added: "Fortunately the occupants escaped to a place of safety and with assistance from TVP Roads Policing the area was made safer, whilst breathing apparatus crews using high pressured hose reels extinguished the fire."
