Road closed after logs spill out in lorry crash

The council thanked drivers for their patience as the early morning closure ran into Friday afternoon

An overturned lorry has shut a main road between two towns in Nottinghamshire.
The A617, between Newark and Mansfield, was closed at Micklebarrow Hill, Averham, before the Friday morning rush hour.
A lorry carrying logs had shed its load, said Nottinghamshire County Council.
Traffic diversions were set up from the A617 at its junctions with the A612 and A614.
Bus firm Stagecoach said the closure had led to delays on its Newark services.
A council spokesperson said highways officers from Via East Midlands were working with Leicestershire Police to resolve the incident, and thanked drivers for their patience.
