A motorist is being treated in hospital for serious injuries after a collision between a van and a truck.

Norfolk Police closed the A47 Lynn Road in both directions at East Winch between the A10 Hardwick Roundabout and the A1122 on Wednesday.

The force said the collision, between a white Vauxhall Movano van and an orange DAF truck, happened at about 13:50 BST.

One of the drivers, a man in his 30s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn by ambulance and later transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

The force said the man remains in a critical condition.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and East of England Ambulance Service were also at the scene.

The road was reopened at 04:30 on Thursday.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information or dashcam footage to get in touch.

The collision comes weeks after a motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision with a black Tesla on the same road.
