Attempted murder arrests made after man stabbed

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man in his 30s was stabbed.

Essex Police said the alleged victim was taken to hospital with a "serious" chest injury after the incident in Travers Way, Basildon, at about 20:50 BST on Tuesday.

His condition was not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, the force said.

The suspects, aged 19 and 25 and from Basildon, were being questioned in custody.

The pair were also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and possession of Class A drugs.

A third man was arrested and released on police bail until 26 July.

The force encouraged anyone with information, such as CCTV or dashcam footage, to get in touch.
