Police in Somerset have appealed for help following a report of a sexual assault in Bath.

Avon and Somerset Police said it happened on the evening of 15 April, when a woman was approached by a man at about 20:45 BST on the London Road.

He grabbed and kissed the woman, who managed to push him off and flee the scene.

Officers would like to question the man pictured in the CCTV footage, who may be able to help them with their investigation. He is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, in his 20s or 30s, with short dark hair, wearing a fur-lined padded jacket. Anyone with information should contact police.

Investigating officer Paul Childs said: "This intimidating and invasive behaviour is very concerning.

"It's important we identify the man in the footage as soon as we can and we’re asking the public to call in with any relevant information.

"We'll ensure the victim gets access to any support she needs and we'll be updating her on the progress of our enquiries."
