Motorists have been warned to expect disruption during the resurfacing of a busy road near the entrance to Ramsey's largest public car park.

Until 31 October, Station Road will become a one-way street heading towards the fire station while the roadworks are carried out. The road will return to normal sooner if the improvements can be finished sooner.

The Department of Infrastructure said the temporary move was designed to avoid congestion at the adjoining Bowring Road roundabouts.

The changes mean access to the Station Road car park will only be available via the Bircham Avenue entrance.

The parking area is situated in front of the town's largest Tesco store and is owned by the local authority, Ramsey Commissioners.

The Department of Infrastructure said that while the traffic order was in place for two weeks, it hoped the work would be completed sooner, "weather permitting".

The "essential improvements" would lead to better "ride quality and drainage" on the road, it added.
