Police are appealing form information after a pub was "significantly damaged" in a suspected arson attack.

Crews from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue were called to the Coach and Horses hotel, in Tattershall Road, Billinghay at 06:03 BST on Sunday.

Lincolnshire Police said in a statement nobody was inside the building when the fire broke out and there have been no reported injuries.

The force added they do not yet know how the fire started, but said it was being treated as a "deliberate ignition".

A police spokesperson said: "The fire has caused significant damage to the building.

"We are treating this as a deliberate ignition and will remain on scene and in the local area today while immediate enquiries are carried out.

"At the moment, our focus is on how the fire started and who was involved, and we are asking for anyone who may have been in the area overnight and into this morning who may have seen something suspicious or unusual to get in touch and share what they know."
