A teenager has denied taking part in disorder that broke out in Birmingham earlier this month.

The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named because of his age, was charged with violent disorder in relation to disturbances in Bordesley Green and other areas of the city on 5 August.

He entered his plea at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday where he was remanded in custody and told to appear at the same court on 29 August.

West Midlands Police said it was still working to identify people involved in trouble which erupted in the city two weeks ago.
