Officers have appealed for information after a man was left with a broken nose following an assault in Cresswell on Sunday.

Derbyshire Police said the man was sitting on a bench in Duchess Street, where he was approached by three men - who were abusive towards the victim - before he ran into Duke Street.

The man was chased by a large group of people, before he was pushed to the ground and assaulted. The victim required hospital treatment, the force added.

Officers said they would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or was in the area at about 15:30 BST on Sunday.
