Fire in takeaway leaves three injured

Three people have been injured in a fire that broke out inside a takeaway in Melton Mowbray.

Fire crews were called to the blaze on the ground floor of Ma's Cottage Chinese takeaway in Burton Street at 09:23 BST on Monday.

Three people were treated for smoke inhalation following the fire, which also affected a residential property above the restaurant.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the fire had been extinguished, but advised people to avoid the area, as it remains an "ongoing incident".
