Three people have been arrested after two of them suffered stab wounds in an alleged assault.

Gwent Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service attended the scene in Lewis Drive, Caerphilly at about 04:15 GMT on Thursday.

A 39-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were both arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, with the woman also under suspicion of affray and threats to kill.

The male suspect sustained stab wounds, as did another 31-year-old man who was taken to hospital for treatment along with the woman.

Det Insp Gavin Torjesen said officers would be continuing with enquiries in the area and asked anyone with information to contact the force.

“It is possible that you may see ongoing police activity in Caerphilly as part of this work, if you have concerns or information then please do stop and talk with us," he said.
