Cornwall councillor returns to transport role

Cornwall Council has announced a new portfolio holder for transport.
Councillor Richard Williams-Pear has stepped down from the role which councillor Connor Donnithorne has taken up.
Mr Donnithorne held the transport role from October 2022 until August 2023 before he swapped roles with Mr Williams-Pears who was responsible for customers - leading on policy formulation and implementation.
Councillor Linda Taylor, leader of the council, said she was "delighted" to welcome back Mr Donnithorne who has "a wealth of experience".
She said she was sorry to see Mr Williams-Pears step down and said his "drive and enthusiasm" would be missed.
Mr Donnithorne resigned from the council in May to seek election as the Conservative candidate for the Camborne and Redruth constituency
On Friday, he said he would be "getting to work immediately" on improving Cornwall's roads, roadside maintenance and public transport.
