Appeal after man, 73, fatally struck by car

Officers have appealed for information after a 73-year-old man died when he was hit by a car in Derbyshire.

Police said the crash happened in Station Road, Darley Dale, at about 17:30 GMT on 9 December.

The driver of the silver VW Polo remained at the scene after the incident, which happened near the crossroads with Old Road and Church Road, and is assisting officers with their inquiries, the force said.

It added the man's family had been made aware of his death and urged anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
