Woman seriously injured in car and tractor crash

A woman has suffered a serious chest injury during a crash involving a car and tractor in Cornwall.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called out to the A39 in St Columb at about 07:40 GMT on Monday.

The force said firefighters and ambulance crews attended the incident, which led to a road closure being put in place until 13:55.

Police said a woman who was driving the car involved had to be cut free from her vehicle and was taken to hospital with a serious chest injury which was not believed to be life-changing or threatening.
