Decision day for community swimming pool

Exeter City Council's cabinet will decide on the possible closure of Northbrook swimming pool

A decision is due to be made later on the future of a popular swimming pool in Exeter which is threatened with closure.
Staff at Northbrook swimming pool were told in February a decision had been made to close the pool after Exeter City Council voted to cut its budget for leisure centre services by £586,000.
After a public outcry, the council then held a public consultation for six weeks between 11 March and 22 April.
Campaigners got more than 2,000 people to sign a petition which forced the city council to look more closely at the impact of closing the pool, with a vote to be taken by the council's executive later on Tuesday.
