Flower field welcomes the community

A farm that grows flowers for petal confetti has opened its fields to the public.
The picturesque view at Shropshire Petal Fields near Newport is open to ticket-holders for the next ten days.
The 25-acre grounds - the equivalent of 400 tennis courts - are filled with delphiniums, cornflowers, sunflowers and wildflowers among others.
It opened on Friday until 18 August.
Ashley Evers-Swindell from Shropshire Petals told BBC Radio Shropshire that the wet weather had caused delays with their planting schedule so they were running two weeks behind.
She said: “The weather is immensely worrying; it has been inconsistent and incredibly wet. We had really worrying times at the beginning of planting season and were not sure that this would happen.
“But my gosh, we made it, we’re here, the sleepless nights and worry has been worth it as we’re surrounded by flowers.”
To get around the weather issues, the team planted the seeds later than usual.
Ms Evers-Swindell added: “To open to the community is amazing, to bring people here in such a fun way, everyone gets a little slice of Shropshire Petals.”
A sunset session is being held into the evening on 17 August, which has been described as a “photographer’s dream”.
