Teenager sustains multiple stab wounds in attack

Officers have asked people to avoid the area while an investigation is carried out

A teenager is in a serious condition in hospital after being found with multiple stab wounds following an attack in Telford.

The 18-year-old was discovered in King Street, Dawley at about 16:00 GMT, West Mercia Police said

He was rushed to hospital for treatment, where it is believed his injuries are not life-threatening.

The force advised members of the public that a stretch of King Street was likely to be closed for some time as investigations are carried out.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed the attack has been asked to contact police.
