Police have been investigating reports of a sexual assault on Nantwich Road, Crewe

A man has been charged following a police investigation into reports of a sexual assault on a main road in Crewe.

Police said Taha Derwish, of Nantwich Road, Crewe, was arrested on Wednesday in connection with an incident on the same street.

The 25-year-old, who Cheshire Police said was of Libyan nationality, was later charged with sexual touching.

He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear before Chester Magistrates' Court on Friday.
