Views sought on improvements to town's market

The council bought Cheadle Indoor Market during an auction last year

People have been asked for their views on how a town's market can be improved as part of council plans to boost the local economy.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has called for people to take part in a consultation on Cheadle Market Hall and the outdoor marketplace.
Public drop-in sessions will be taking place at the Tape Street car park on 20 and 21 March where people can share their views, while an online survey runs until 21 March.
The appeal came after the council bought the indoor market building during a live auction in autumn last year.
Matt Swindlehurst, the council's cabinet member for leisure and tourism, said the authority wanted to hear from all interested people as it considered options for the market's future.
"We want to see our towns thriving and buying the market is a key part of our plans to regenerate Cheadle and boost the local economy," he said.
"This market, on High Street, will be at the heart of that so it's essential that whatever we invest in is viable and makes a significant contribution to the future success of the town."
