Plans to convert a former escape room in Leicester into a hotel have been submitted.

Vista Impex Ltd wants to turn the empty Escape Reality site on St Matthews Way into a 21-room hotel.

According to documents lodged with Leicester City Council, the proposed development would "revitalise" the site with "minimal alterations" to the existing building.

If approved, the hotel would create four full-time jobs and provide space for up to 35 guests.

Planning documents state : "This development will enhance the area by providing much-needed accommodation options, promoting tourism, and encouraging economic growth, all while maintaining a harmonious relationship with the surrounding environment."

The city council has set a target decision date of 15 October.
