Performers are set to fill the streets of a seaside resort for a sunset dance performance.

Dusk Till Dark in Weymouth will see more than 60 performers, including dancers carrying over 600 silk pennants, weave through the town's streets to the beach.

The procession, led by a carnival queen, will feature a mix of contemporary dance and martial arts along with live soundscapes from boom bikes.

The free performance titled, Sonnet of Samsara, starts at Weymouth Town Bridge and moves through the streets to the seafront on Friday and Saturday from 19:00 BST.

The promenade performance is a collaboration between Attakkalari - a dance company from India - and UK arts charity Kinetika, known for its community-led silk creations.

Three dancers from the dance company, which is based in the Indian city of Bengaluru, will be part of the performances.

Part of the biennial Inside Out Dorset Festival it has been created by charity Activate Performing Arts.

Dom Kippin its producer said: "To bring this performance to Weymouth, a town so deeply connected to the sea and storytelling, is incredibly special.

"With over 60 performers, more than 600 pennants and dancers from across the globe, it's set to be incredible."

He added it would "transform the town into a living, breathing artwork".

The wheelchair accessible parade route is about 1km (0.62 miles) long.

The finale takes place on the beach with an accessible viewing area on The Esplanade. On Saturday the performance will include an audio description.
