A car has reportedly been shot at on a roundabout in Slough, police say.

Members of the public reported a that a firearm had been discharged towards the car, thought to be a black VW Golf in Cippenham on Richards Way and Little Chapels Way roundabout on Saturday shortly before 19:00 BST, Thames Valley Police said.

Both the person who fired the weapon, described as wearing black clothing and a bandana, and the car left the scene.

The force said a cordon was in place while forensic examinations are carried out and officers would also be making house to house visits and checking for CCTV footage. Anyone with information is urged to get in touch.

Det Insp Sarah Noah said: "I appreciate this incident will cause concern in the community, but I want to reassure residents that we are conducting a thorough investigation.

"I would like to thank local residents for reporting the incident and their ongoing support while we are in the area to conduct our investigation."
