A man suspected of being involved in smuggling people into the UK has been arrested, the National Crime Agency (NCA) has confirmed.

The 35-year-old Iraqi national was arrested on suspicion of facilitating illegal immigration at an address on Wolverhampton Road in Oldbury, Sandwell, in the West Midlands on Sunday.

Mobile phones, notebooks and £10,000 in cash were also seized, the NCA said, along with cigarettes and tobacco, suspected by the agency to have been smuggled into the country

The man was questioned by officers before he was released on bail.
