A man has been seriously injured after he was hit by a lorry in Normanton.

The male pedestrian was in collision with the HGV on Loscoe Lane at 12:35 GMT on Tuesday, West Yorkshire Police said.

The man was taken to hospital with "life-threatening" injuries, the force added.

The road between Normanton Bypass and Sewerbridge Lane was temporarily closed while officers carried out enquiries.
