Man, 44, appears in court after mum found dead

Victoria Thomas was found dead in a property on Caerphilly Road in Cardiff on Tuesday morning

A 44-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering a mum found dead at a property in Cardiff.

Alcwyn Thomas was arrested after 45-year-old Victoria Thomas was found dead on Tuesday morning.

On Friday he appeared at Cardiff Magistrates' Court wearing a grey track suit and only spoke to say his name, address, and date of birth.

He is due to appear at Cardiff Crown Court on 27 August.

Police were responding to a call to a house on Caerphilly Road, Cardiff at 00:30 BST on Tuesday.

Ms Thomas' family described her as a "much-loved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece and friend".

South Wales Police said Victoria Thomas' family is being supported by specialist officers.
