A hub offering support to military families is seeking a larger premises so it can help more people.
Scarborough Veterans Hub, which opened in June, is the only dedicated space for the armed forces community on the North Yorkshire coast.
Hosted by Age UK and sponsored by the Veterans' Foundation, the facility provides drop-in information sessions, training services and social activities.
Dr Lori Boul, who leads the project, said they are now looking for a larger clubhouse space so they can expand their services and bring more people together for social events.
"I truly believe that what we need is premises where they can come and have a coffee, join in some activities, maybe get some training and also meet other people," said Dr Boul.
She also said she hoped that a bigger premises would allow organisations like SSAFA, the Royal British Legion, Walking with the Wounded and Help for Heroes to run sessions in the centre for local veterans.
The organisation is asking local authorities and commercial organisations if they are able to provide a premises.
"We will be applying for grants, seeking sponsorship and hope to start a fundraising campaign next year," she said.
Dr Boul said she accepted the transition into civilian life was difficult but that adequate support for ex-military personnel could prevent a lot of homelessness and mental health problems that come later in life.
She added: "Armed forces people don't usually like to drop in but if it's a dedicated site and they know they're going to be speaking to other ex-forces or military people then they are more likely to call."
The Armed Forces Community & Veterans Hub on Royal Avenue, Scarborough, is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10:00 and 16:00.
