Two people have been injured at a secondary school following reports a student had a knife.

Bedfordshire Police was called to Manshead Church of England Academy in Dunstable Road, Caddington, at 13:40 BST.

A teenager was "quickly detained by police" and the two victims were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police have not revealed whether they were staff or pupils.

A spokesperson said: "We understand that this may be concerning. However, we want to reassure the public that there is no wider threat to the community.

"We'd also like to praise the school for their swift response."

The force said a support team would be working to support students at the school.
