A 50-year-old man accused of murder after a fatal crash between a car and a pedestrian has denied the charge.

Jeremy Heath, of Ladyshot in Harlow, Essex, has been charged with the murder of Arlind Xhokola, 26, who died near a cycle path off Momples Road in Harlow at about 17:30 GMT on 29 March.

Mr Heath has also pleaded not guilty to robbery, perverting the course of justice and possessing a bladed article in a public place.

He appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court and stood in the dock wearing a grey quarter-zip fleece and trousers.

The defendant has been remanded in custody and the trial is scheduled to begin on 5 January.
