A man who exposed himself in front of schoolchildren has been jailed.

Marcus Cook, 55, pleaded guilty to exposing his genitals in London Road, Spalding, on 13 and 17 November 2023.

Cook, who lives on the road, also admitted two further charges of exposing his genitals at the same location on 11 and 12 December.

He was jailed for 24 weeks at Lincoln Crown Court and ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years.

The court was told that during the first incident Cook had been standing completely naked on a public footpath outside his home as a woman walked by.

When Cook noticed the woman he hid behind a fence, the court was told.

The same women tried to take a photograph of Cook after he again came to the front door completely naked and appeared to pose for a picture.

The victim said she was shocked as there was a school nearby.

In the later incidents, another woman saw Cook standing by his front door completely naked and warned some nearby schoolchildren.

The next day four schoolgirls were passing on the opposite side of the street when Cook was again stood fully naked on his front doorstep.

'Difficult childhood'

In a police interview, Cook admitted the offences but said voices told him to do it.

The court heard a psychiatric report on Cook had highlighted his medical history and difficult childhood.

Tom Heath, mitigating for Cook, said although his client's behaviour had been “entrenched”, a change in his medication had stopped him from hearing voices.

The court heard Cook had spent several months on remand and was likely to be released after already serving his sentence.
