Police want to hear from people who were in Rochester Road and surrounding streets at 17:45 BST on Saturday

A man has been arrested after reports an armed group had been seen on a Stoke-on-Trent street.

Firearms officers were sent to Rochester Road, Longton, at 17:45 BST on Saturday over reports of a group with weapons.

A 25-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested and is being questioned by detectives on suspicion of violent disorder, said Staffordshire Police.

The force wants to hear from anyone who was in Rochester Road, Longley Road or Edgefield Road around the time of the alleged incident.

There was an increased police presence in the area on Sunday to reassure the local community.

People with information or camera footage that could aid the investigation were asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
