Two men charged over hammer attack

Two men have been charged after a man in his 60s was attacked with a hammer in Warwickshire.

The alleged assault happened following a confrontation with a group of men riding off-road motorbikes on Rathbone Close, in Keresley End, Warwickshire Police said.

Thomas Black, 28, of Hope Close, Keresley End, was charged with wounding with intent. Jamie Townsend, 35, of Bennetts Road Coventry was charged with common assault.

They are due to appear before Warwick Crown Court on 25 July.

Mr Townsend was also charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Warwickshire Police said enquiries were ongoing and appealed for anyone with information on the attack which happened at about 16:10 BST on Thursday to come forward.
