A man has been arrested in Leicester on suspicion of terrorism offences.

Leicestershire Police said officers executed a pre-planned warrant at an address in Cecil Road on Tuesday morning.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including encouraging acts of terrorism, the force said.

The man currently remains in police custody and the investigation remains ongoing.
