Four Mercedes-Benz vehicles have been set on fire at a car dealership in a suspected arson attack.

Firefighters arrived at the firm's dealership on Cobridge Road in Cobridge, just after 03:00 GMT on Sunday to find the vehicles "well alight".

A man was seen pouring petrol over one vehicle at about 02:35 on Sunday and then setting it alight, with the fire then spreading to the remaining cars, Staffordshire Police said.

He then left the scene minutes later on an electric scooter in the direction of Waterloo Road.

Police said the suspect was wearing a dark-coloured hoody and jogging bottoms as well as a glove.

The damaged cars have been covered with sheets while investigation continue.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the force.
