Two cafes in parks in Cheshire have reopened after their previous operator went into administration.

Everybody Health and Leisure, which currently runs leisure centres in the borough, has signed a 12-month agreement to run Queens Park cafe in Crewe and West Park cafe in Macclesfield.

Work to secure a permanent operator for the two sites is ongoing, the council said.

Deep Beat Entertainment Limited, which previously ran the cafes, went into administration in February.

The Crewe cafe was shut for a month after closing on 23 June but the Macclesfield site was closed for six months, finally reopening on 9 September.

Councillor Mick Warren, chair of Cheshire East Council’s environment and communities committee, said he was delighted the cafes had reopened.

“I thank park users at both locations for their patience while this has been resolved,” he said.

Everybody Health and Leisure CEO Thomas Barton said: “Our Taste For Life cafés already operate at seven locations across the borough, including Crewe and Macclesfield, so taking on the operation of these park cafés feels like a natural extension of this service.”
