A man has been arrested after another man was struck in the face with glass at a pub.

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following the serious assault at the King’s Arms in Castle Street, Trowbridge early on Saturday morning.

The victim, who is in his 30s, required hospital treatment for his injuries.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.

A police spokesperson said the incident happened just before 01:00 GMT on Saturday.

They added: "We need to hear from anyone who was at the pub, or nearby, who may have seen what took place."
