A woman who stabbed a shop worker while stealing a charity donation box has been jailed for three years.
Katrina Dixon stole the container from the counter of a store on Firth Park Road in Sheffield on 30 October 2024, with Dixon stabbing the man and biting another member of staff on the hand during efforts to apprehend her.
The stabbed man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries not believed to be either life-threatening or life-altering, South Yorkshire Police said.
Dixon, 40, of no fixed abode, admitted wounding with intent, theft from a shop and possession of a sharp weapon in a public place and was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court.
Officers also recovered a craft knife from the scene at the time.
Insp Alec Gibbons, of South Yorkshire Police, previously said: "Retail workers should not have to face threatening behaviour or violence in the workplace.
"It's incidents like this that show how retail crime is not victimless."
