A university has applied for planning permission to turn part of its campus into a dental surgery.
The University of Gloucestershire has appointed property consultants Alder King to work on its plans to turn part of the third floor of its new City Campus building into a surgery where students can train and the public can be treated.
The plans submitted to the city council include six treatment rooms, an open-plan treatment room with six bays, a patient waiting area, an X-ray room, changing facilities, showers and two classrooms.
A spokesperson for the university said it hoped the new surgery would "deliver benefits for students, staff and the wider community".
The majority of staff employed at the dental surgery would be existing university staff, the application states.
The opening hours would likely be Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:30 BST to reflect the hours of students and staff.

The dental surgery would provide students with training and offer treatment to the public
Jo Charles, director of commercial and transformation at University of Gloucestershire, said the partnership with Alder King was "exciting".
"Their support will help us realise the full potential of the site more quickly, and continue our transformation into a future-fit university at the heart of Gloucestershire," she added.
The planning application is open for public comments until Wednesday.
