Fire crews have spent the night tackling a blaze in an office block.

Northamptonshire Fire Service said members were called to Watling Park in Watford, near Daventry, on Thursday night to find a blaze within a business office block.

The premises had already been evacuated before firefighters arrived, and no casualties were reported.

In a statement on social media, Northamptonshire Fire Service said: "The fire was fully extinguished in the early hours of the morning, with two crews remaining on site until shortly before 03.30 GMT to ventilate the property."

Under investigation

Ten firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and used hose reel jets to control the flames.

Fans were also deployed to clear the smoke.

The room where the fire started has been completely destroyed, while surrounding office blocks sustained smoke and water damage.

A total of seven fire appliances, an aerial appliance and a water bowser attended the scene.

This morning fire investigators returned to the site to determine the cause of the blaze.
