Body found in search for missing man

A body has been found in the River Ouse in York in relation to the search for a man who has been missing for almost four months.

Seth Martin, 31, from Spain but living in York, was reported missing on Saturday 24 February.

North Yorkshire Police said a body was found shortly after 15:15 BST on Sunday in the river near to Landing Lane.

A spokesperson said formal identification had not yet taken place, but Mr Martin's family had been informed.

The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner, they added.

The spokesperson thanked those who responded to appeals to find Mr Martin.

"Our thoughts at this time are with Seth’s family and friends," they added.
