Direct flights between the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands are set to return following a successful trial, the airline behind the services has confirmed.

Blue Islands has announced flights will run most months until December.

The direct link between Jersey and the Isle of Man will also include a connection to and from Guernsey.

The route would "enhance connectivity" between the business communities, the airline said.

The cost of the return flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays will stay at around £470, the price of a ticket during the previous five-week trial.

As the service had been designed to meet business travel demand, the route has not been not scheduled to operate during school holiday periods and the week of Liberation Day in Jersey and Guernsey in May, the airline said.

In early June, the Jersey to Isle of Man flight will arrive a day early as it falls during TT race week, it added.

Chief executive Rob Veron said the route was an alternative to "time-consuming travel options" and would provide "fast, efficient journeys".

The first flight of the new service will take off on 23 April.
