A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Leicester.

Officers were called at about 19:40 BST on Friday to reports a man had been assaulted in Lockerbie Walk, Rushey Mead, Leicestershire Police said.

He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, added police.

The teenager who was arrested remains in police custody.

Officers said the investigation remains ongoing.
