Boys held in murder probe after man, 18, stabbed

Four boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder after an 18-year-old man was stabbed to death in Derbyshire.

Emergency services were called at 20:20 GMT on Saturday to reports that a man had been stabbed in Rose Avenue, Ilkeston.

He died in nearby Heanor Road just before 21:00, Derbyshire Police said.

The arrested boys, all 17, were detained along with a 52-year-old man, a 15-year-old girl and a girl, 16, who were all arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They all remain in custody, the force added.

Det Ch Insp Claudia Musson said: "We are in the very early stages of the investigation and we are treating it as an isolated incident.

"We are keen for anyone with information to contact us as a matter of urgency to assist with the inquiry into the death of this young man."

The man's family have been informed and are being supported by officers, police added.

Anyone with information or footage has been asked to get in touch.

In particular, officers said they were after CCTV, doorbell and dashcam footage from between 19:00 and 21:00 in Heanor Road, Rose Avenue, Summerfields Way, Kedleston Drive and Peveril Drive.
