Police dog injured as armed officers target van

A police dog has been injured in an incident that saw armed officers track a van suspected of carrying weapons.
West Midlands Police said the van was spotted by officers on Saturday morning using cloned plates near Castle Vale.
Firearms officers were deployed and followed the van along Kingsbury Road.
The force said during the incident, a police weapon was fired, but no one was hurt.
The dog has been taken to the vets to be treated, police said, adding that investigations were ongoing.
No arrests have been made following the incident, the force added.
